Hand-Forged Arctic Iron Coat Rack. Made to Order

€140.00

Forged in the heart of Lapland, Finland. This is not a factory product—it is a piece of the Arctic spirit. I created this coat rack using traditional blacksmithing techniques. No electricity, no shortcuts. The rustic iron backplate is hand-hammered to achieve a rugged, textured finish that reflects the ancient northern landscapes. Hand-forged reclaimed steel and solid brass rivets for a striking contrast. Each hook is manually shaped on an anvil and secured with hand-peened brass rivets. Treated with traditional methods to preserve the raw, industrial look of the forge.

Also in pictures theres a close-up of hand-forged industrial door handles and hinges by Kaitaouta, matching the coat rack style.

At Kaitaouta, I don’t believe in mass production. I believe in tools and home goods that tell a story of endurance and heat.

I offer two distinct ways to protect and finish your piece, depending on the look you desire:

  1. Handmade Pine Tar (The Blacksmith's Choice): > This finish is as authentic as it gets. I produce the pine tar myself as a byproduct of making the charcoal for my forge. It gives the iron a deep, dark, and protective layer with a faint, smoky scent of the northern wilderness.

  2. Microcrystalline Wax: > For those who want to see the raw beauty of the hammer marks. This wax provides a durable, translucent protective layer that lets the natural grey tones and textures of the forged steel shine through.
