Safe and efficient wood splitting tool. This tool makes splitting wood easy and safe, even if you are not experienced with an axe. It splits logs precisely where you want them, keeping your fingers safe from the blade.

Handcrafted in Finnish Lapland.

How to use: Place the log on top of the blade and strike it with a mallet, a blacksmith's hammer, or even another log. The ideal striking tool is a 1.5 kg – 2 kg blacksmith’s hammer (available affordably at most hardware stores).

Technical Details:

  • High-Quality Blade: Forged high-carbon steel. The blade has undergone multiple heat treatments, making it tough enough to cut through iron nails without dulling – a common issue with backyard trees containing old wires or nails.

  • Finish: Machine-brushed and cleaned with acetone. Surface treated while hot with Cosmoloid H80 for long-lasting protection.

  • Frame: Welded from durable S355 structural steel pipe.

  • Rings: Made from 10mm twisted square bar.

  • Installation: Includes 10x80mm lag bolts for mounting the tool to a splitting stump.

  • Dimensions (Approx.): Height 350 mm, Blade width 150 mm, Inner diameter of the rings approx. 235 mm.

Professional Quality: Built to last from father to son. The welding meets high standards, and the heat treatment is done with extreme care: the forged carbon steel has been normalized, hardened, and double-tempered.
